Veneers and Lumineers
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers are are thin, semi-translucent “shells” fabricated from porcelain that are custom made by a dental lab to fit precisely over existing teeth. Veneers are permanently bonded into place by a special resin that adheres to the front surface of the tooth. The finished result is an extremely strong and durable new tooth.
Though veneers may not be suitable for all patients, they are often the ideal option to close spaces between teeth and cover unsightly teeth. They can also be used to cover stained or washed-out fillings, whiten permanently discolored teeth, or to correct crooked teeth.
Sometimes a special type of veneer often called “no prep veneer” or Lumineer can be placed. Lumineers are contact lens thin veneers that are placed over teeth and can be used to whiten teeth, close spaces, and even change the shape of teeth. Dr. Badyal is a trained and certified Lumineers’ doctor.
Veneers made by Dr. Badyal and Dr. Karren are carefully designed to look and feel natural. By taking into consideration the patients eye and hair color, complexion and face shape, veneers can be made to look incredibly esthetic and natural. If you are looking for a new beautiful, bright, white smile, porcelain veneers may be for you.
